Sony's Playstation 2, otherwise known as PS2, was launched in 2004 and has sold over 115 million consoles, making it the fastest selling game console in history. The Playstation 2 has been replaced with the Playstation 3, but is still very popular today.

The Playstation 2 comes with a superb joypad, 32Mb of RAM and a 150 MHz Sony graphics card. One of the trump cards of the Playstation 2 is the quality of the games, which are fantastic.

You can use the Playstation 2 to play DVD's, which is ideal if you do not own a dedicated DVD player.

The Playstation 2 was THE game console on the market for 3 years post launch. But the arrival of Microsoft's Xbox and Nintendo's GameCube bought serious competition. The Playstation 2 has been replaced with the Playstation 3. However the Playstation 2 still remains a quality console and ideal for anyone who does not need the extra features of the Playstation 3.
